Whale of a Sale

May 16 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

New this year, get ready for the first-ever Whale of a Sale, a unique fundraising event you won’t want to miss! On Saturday, May 16th from 10:00am to 3:00pm, browse a curated selection of antiques, vintage collectibles, furniture, artwork, home décor, and more. The best part? Every 45 minutes to an hour, an additional 10% discount is added to all sticker prices. The longer you browse, the more you save! All the proceeds from this event will go to help support the Essex County Museum and Historical Society. Come early for the best selection, or come late for the best deals. It’s a whale of a good time all in support of a great cause!

If you’d like to donate items for the sale, please check out the listed criteria. Donations will be accepted during regular Museum hours from May 5th–14th (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10-3). Donation receipts will be available.

If you want first dibs on picking out something special, you can get an exclusive head start at the Early Bird Reception on May 15th from 5:00–7:00pm! This ticketed event will give guests the chance to shop the full Whale of a Sale collection the evening before the public sale opens. The evening will feature a wine and beer reception along with some light hors d’oeuvres. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a fun night out while securing your treasures before the crowds arrive. Items purchased at the reception will be sold at a 20% markup above sticker price.
