The Essex County Museum partnered with Friends of the Rappahannock to welcome local educators and community members at a Teacher Reception and Community Meet & Greet on Tuesday, August 5th. The event took place in the Max Silver Memorial Courtyard. Designed to connect teachers with local educational resources, the event featured booths from Essex County Parks and Recreation, the Essex County Public Library, Three Rivers Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists, along with Friends of the Rappahannock and the Essex County Museum. Educators had the opportunity to learn more about the wide variety of programs and materials available to support classroom instruction and student engagement throughout the county.

Catering was generously provided by Greg Huff and the historic 1710 Tavern, delighting guests and adding a delicious local touch to the evening. Attendees also had the chance to win an array of prizes donated by participating organizations, as well as gift cards provided by Essex County Museum Board Members and the Tappahannock Rotary Club! Our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this all possible, and for the generous Gift Card donations from our Board Members. We hope to make this an annual event to help support local teachers and connect them with the community.
